What are you doing with your life? Your life is happening for you and every moment is an opportunity. The choices are set before you like a choose your own adventure to follow your path or change coarse and set out for something new.

I’ve been away from work during the government shutdown. My job responsibilities aren’t something that are necessary to perform and not get paid while things are being debated. The shutdown was not worrisome at first, I was on leave for Christmas and New Year. I had faith in the system that our elected officials would work through the process and come up with a solution.
And they didn’t. I didn’t go back to work on the day I was scheduled to. That’s when reality arrived, I wasn’t on leave, I was not getting paid. So 2019 started, I started my Whole30 reset and committed to a daily yoga practice in January. I love monthly challenges because they provide a short term opportunity to be disciplined and try on a new habit. I chose to continue as planned with my dedication in January. I was determined not to be derailed by outside forces and to achieve the goals I know would serve me well.
And still the shutdown rolled on. As I progressed through the first week of the new year, I started to develop a new routine. I was nervous, but not anxious. I chose to focus on gratitude journaling, yoga and meditation as the best way to start my day. I consumed and absorbed every webinar I could about starting an online business, marketing, email lists and being a thought leader that I could find. During this time, it has become very clear to me that being a thought leader, a coach/author/trainer/speaker, is exactly what I want to do.
I enjoy reading and consuming material so that it may be allowed to resonate or be rejected from the totality of my experience and knowledge that I have been accumulating throughout my personal development journey. I feel called to use this to help others succeed to whatever degree they have decided they would like to. I enjoy using what I know are proven tools, techniques and processes to help others to accomplish their goals. I have always been in service to a larger organization and I feel called to do it on a more personal level.

I’ve traversed a lot of rocky terrain, metaphorically speaking, on my journey of personal development. I’ve done quite a bit of it stubbornly and in solitude. I’ve also had periods of help, both from people and resources I sought and those which were delivered to me by virtue and serendipity. I’ve learned from both periods, but I have always been more productive and successful with help. Additionally, the lessons I learned and the progress I made with help were easier to adopt and have had the most longevity without needing as much tweaking and maturing.
I have made more progress on my goals in the last two weeks than I did all of last year because everyday while I am on a forced sabbatical from my job I am making advances in my skills and mastery on my passion and the profession I will transition to. I made the choice to not be depressed and demotivated by the lack of certainty in the current situation, I have worked to shape a future for myself.

I have chosen to eat in accordance with my Whole30 reset because it heals and strengthens me. I have chosen to stay dedicated to daily yoga and meditation because it opens me up to my energetic center. This energetic center has allowed me to connect more fully with my intention and being open to seeing the positive opportunities all around me. I have chosen to seek a future that is aligned with my purpose and my calling to serve.
