Recognize what’s within you and before you

You’ve been doing your reflection and have been keeping a journal. You’ve been going hardcore about your goals and how to get there because it’s that time of year. (But don’t be limited by the calendar, this is a continuous process.) Likely some thoughts or patterns are emerging as priorities for you to address. The next step is to give it some recognition, make it the star of the show. Deep dive into how it serves you and what needs to occur to advance your goal.

I’m speaking generally because this could be any sort of topic, from gratitude to obstacle. And because ever story is unique and goals are different, there is no one size fits most solution set here.

Last week, I shared about reflection and its benefits. Head over to last week’s article to get good insight into the first step of my recommended three step process for progressing your goal getting and success.

Like any task when combined with others, also known as multi-tasking, the quality of your output is decreased. Take the time to shine the spotlight on one issue at a time. Recognize it, name it, and acknowledge how it is serving you.

Some things serve us well and some things disrupt our progress and our authenticity. When taking the time to give recognition to what is within you and what is before you, it is worth the time and energy to really dive into the things that are brought to the forefront of our minds.

This step renders the best results when we are honest and open. This is a step that will deceive you if you have bias you are blind to. Be open, be authentic, be real and raw, then give recognition so that you find progress.
